Rigby's 8th Birthday

Rigby, being the creative boy he is, decided he wanted to decorate his own cookie cake this year. He picked out a ridiculous amount of candy at the store and made a shark infested frog pond with peach-o lily pads. The kids loved it! (looking at this made me want to throw up though!)

Rigby always gives us a sweetest smiles on his birthday. I think he enjoys being the center of attention because, most of the time, he is very much a background person.

This face, lol!

He LOVES robots.

Rigby is still as sweet as he was as a baby. He is so quiet and we often have a hard time getting him to talk more than a few words to us. When he does get in the mood to talk, he turns into a non-stop chatter box! He and I share the same struggle of knowing how to connect with other people and make friends. Thankfully, Peter's friends in California have been really kind and welcoming, so Rigby often hangs out with kids a couple of years older than himself. Rigby's favorite school subject is math and he is having fun participating in chess club at school. We love you, Rigby!

Peter's 10th Birthday

Peter is still missing Louisiana and Mardi Gras a bit, so he requested a homemade king cake for his birthday.

He has been asking for a bean bag chair for months, so it probably wasn't really necessary to wrap this gift. However, it is fun to see the excitement while the kids unwrap something they've been waiting for.

This bean bag has been well loved and used by EVERYONE. One of my favorite things lately has been to read Harry Potter to Peter and Rigby while sitting on this bean bag.

Peter is such a good example to his younger siblings. He does his best in school and despite the fact he denies it, I know he LOVES learning. His favorite subject is math and he has been having fun participating in chess club at school. His all time favorite thing right now is playing Mario Kart and Mario Odyssey on the Nintendo Switch (video games). We love you, Peter!

Reuben's 4th Birthday

Since Reuben will not try or eat birthday cake or ice cream, we put KitKat Candy Bars along the edge so he would have something to eat on his birthday. He LOVED the candy bars and I think ended up eating about half of them.

His favorite stuffed animal is a lion and so Voltron (a large, warrior, space ship robot made with five robot lions) was his birthday gift theme. He got Voltron sheets and five metal lions that form Voltron.

He was EXTREMELY happy until something went wrong (don't remember what) and he had meltdown on the floor.

Reuben is very eager to learn; he has progressed very quickly in speech this past year, so that everyone is able to understand most of what he says. He loves to give hugs and kisses throughout the day and he is loving that Tim has become more of a playmate instead of a "baby." Reuben and Tim have started rough housing and it has been so much fun to see their brotherly relationship develop. Reuben is very intense and once he gets his mind set on something, he cannot be distracted (this is good and difficult at times). He is also excited to start preschool this next school year. We love you, Reuben!

The beloved Voltron!

The even more beloved Nintendo Switch! I worked my mommy butt off to get these kids to do enough jobs in order to earn $300 for this thing. So much fighting happens when they play it, but they love it.

Scott got them silver dollars.

We like to start them young at museums.

Peter, Rigby and Adeline said that they were triplets that hatched from this egg, ha ha ha!

San Francisco Botanical Gardens

We had some crazy experiences riding on the subway and bus systems in San Francisco. We actually got off on one of the worst stops in the city; there were so many pot heads. On the bus, Peter and Rigby sat next to a guy that was very nice but super high. Afterwards I told them, "And that is why you don't do drugs." The elevators smelled like urine so badly and Reuben tried picking up a soda cup that I'm pretty sure had urine in it, ha ha ha!

The Golden Gate Bridge

I love this picture of Reuben on top of a cannon. This is at a civil war fort at the base of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Muir Woods National Monument

Timothy was too heavy for this carrier, so he kept wobbling from side-to-side. I was a little nervous about dumping him into the creek.

The view was beautiful!
