Rigby's Preschool Graduation and School Work

Show-Off Day
I was unable to go to Rigby's Show-Off Day at preschool because of strep throat, but Scott was able to go and get a couple of fun pictures of Rigby doing some of his gymnastic moves.

Preschool Graduation
Scott and I were unable to attend Rigby's Preschool Graduation, but my parents went and got some cute pictures of Rigby. All the kids were suppose to wear a "cute summer outfit;" I left one out for Rigby but he insisted on wearing his monkey bones shirt and some khaki pants that were on backwards-oh well.

The kids singing during the program. Rigby is the last one on the right.

Rigby with his "pure gold medal" and all of his teachers.

This is Rigby's cubby spot.

School & Art Work

The kids made a letter craft for each letter of the alphabet once a week.

Rigby's favorite stuffed animal which he calls "Froggy."

Scrooge McDuck fighting an enemy from the show Duck Tales.

Captain Hook with the Golden Smee from an episode of Jake and the Neverland Pirates.

Peter's 1st Grade School Work

Here is some 1st grade school work from Peter that I would like to remember.

Translation:
I like to play games.
I like to be a brother.
I color.
I like to camp.
I color neat.

Translation:
I like me and to play.
I like to not do not what ?
I like pictures.
I like grapes.
I like my family.

He loves making lists of books and how much they cost. He has been collecting Ninjago books and now Magic Treehouse books. He loves to read.

Peter is the "math man" of our family. I found these papers EVERYWHERE the entire school year.

A picture and description of his and Chloe's invention:

Self portrait at the end of the school year.

Sight Seeing and Fun

After our trip to Puerto Rico, my parents were able to stay and visit with us for another week.  My parents and I love to go sight-seeing, so we all bravely drug the kids along for a visit to a couple of museums and a plantation.

Louisiana's Civil War Museum

Adeline, Rigby, Reuben and I with a cannon.

A tree trunk with bullets from a Civil War battle.

An amputation kit. It looks like a hack saw Scott has in the garage.

Each battalion had its own flag in the Confederacy. I am not sure if they knew how to count or not but many of them had anywhere from 11 to 13 stars-not sure why.

New Orleans 1850

The 1850 House is an example of a middle income family of New Orleans in the 1850's.

Adeline showing some attitude and Reuben eying his next escape route to the stairs.

Apparently, some of society believed that it was unnatural or uneducated to see a baby crawl so they encouraged babies to walk as soon as possible using things such as this jumper/walker in the picture below.

Destrehan Plantation
I don't know and didn't hear most of the information on the tour because I was busy throwing up and worrying about kids, but this was a beautiful plantation with a lot of fun things to see.  It was interesting to see the workers dressed in period clothing.

The dining room during the evening was the only room that the teenage boys were allowed to be in the house.  As soon as each boy turned 13, they had to move to a little side house away from the main house.

I thought this picture was interesting of how the walls looked before they plastered them.

Blacksmith Demonstration

Mom & Dad watching the blacksmith work.

Adeline pouting with Grandma and wearing her first set of full pigtails!

Fun at Home
The boys had fun building a pirate ship with Grandpa-especially Rigby.

Puerto Rico!

My amazingly sweet husband surprised me with a trip to Puerto Rico for our 10 year wedding anniversary/Mother's Day gift. Also, my wonderful parents were still willing to watch our four little monsters even though they had to travel immediately from my grandfather's burial to the airport in order to still make the flight. Thank you!

This trip was much more relaxed than our Belize trip because we did not have time to plan things in advance and we were both so tired from taking care of kids, work, church callings, etc. It is amazing how much crazier life has become since 5 years ago. We took midnight walks along the beach each night, and then got to sleep in! We ate out every meal; it was delicious! I am gaining weight again thinking about it.

Scott had fun taking tons of pictures without having to hurry in order to help me chase down a kid or two.

Love this handsome, sweet man!

We went on a little walk in the rainforest and enjoyed the unique plants and beautiful views.

We visited the old Spanish forts and learned some Puerto Rican history.

The American, Puerto Rican, and Old Spanish Armada Flags

Some drawings done by a prisoner in the 1500's.

Old San Juan reminded me of the French Quarter only in Caribbean colors!

We enjoyed the view of the beach from our hotel room,

And lots of kissing! I love you Scottie!
