Peter Says & Rigby Says . . .

Here are some funny things that Rigby and Peter have said over the past couple of years:

Peter Says

3 and 4 years old
When Peter was 3 and 4, he would get angry and send his imaginary guards after anyone who upset him.  We think that he got this idea from a Living Scriptures Video called Nephi and the Brass Plates; there is a scene where Laban sends his guards after Nephi and his brothers and says, "guards, guards!"  He would also say that his guards were riding on the top of the car and we could not see them because they were invisible.

Peter:  Guards, guards get Daddy/Mommy!

We have a situation. There is (blank).

Me:  Peter you are so smart.
Peter:  Yes, because I have this (pointing to his head)-thinking stuff.

Peter:  Venus has gases.
Me:  Oh, does it?
Peter:  Yes, deadly gases. It's called sulfuric acid.
Me:  Good job, Peter, that's smart.
Peter:  Yes, I watch too much Magic School bus.
Me:  Yes, you are probably right.
(Scott and I laugh)

Peter:  I don't want to grow up, I want to stay a kid.
Scott:  A toys r us kid?
Peter:  Yeah.

About church:
Peter:  Sometimes I don't understand when it is too long.

Mommy, grown ups have passwords on their phones so kids can't play games on them, right?

Sometimes when I watch magic school bus too long, my mind gets so clever.

Peter:  Do you know how much I love you Mommy?
Me:  No, how much do you love me Peter?
Peter:  I Love you thirty sixty-eight Mommy. Isn't that a lot?
Me:  Yes that is a lot. I love you too my sweet boy.

Rigby is being very sneakable. He is tick-tocking around.

Mommy, I am putting your hair behind your ears so you can be beautiful for Daddy.

Rigby Says

3 years old
Back Story:  Because Scott had a special frog stuffed animal growing up, Grandpa Flamm gave Peter a frog for Christmas when he was one year old.  A year and a half later, Rigby moved into the same room with Peter; Peter decided Rigby needed a special stuffed animal, so he game him the frog.  We always thought he would take it back, but he never did and it has become Rigby's number one special animal.  As a result, Rigby loves frogs and his second favorite color is green (the color of his frog).

After showing the boys a frog on our front porch, the boys had the following conversation in the van.

Peter:  I hate frogs! (He probably said this just to annoy Rigby)
Rigby:  You are not my brother! Humph! (He was very insulted)

Rigby said this to Scott after Peter shut Rigby out of their room for playing too rough.
He just gets in these moods where he needs to tackle somebody.
Rigby:  I want to wrestle!

Thanksgiving

These are the only pictures we have of Thanksgiving this year.  Scott ended up having to work the weekend before Thanksgiving and 12 hour days the week of and weekend after Thanksgiving; so anything that was not mandatory, did not get accomplished.  Thankfully, for the actual Thanksgiving Day, he only worked at home for a few hours.  We ended up sleeping in until 10:30 because we were both so exhausted from work/kids; as a result, we did not eat until 7 pm that night.  The meal was still yummy though, and I have enjoyed not making dinner or lunch the last few days.

This is our grateful/thankful poster we made for Family Home Evening in November.  It ended up being one of the easiest and most fun activities we have ever done.

Last night when I was coming in from taking the garbage outside, the boys heard me and thought it was Scott.  Upon seeing me, Peter said disappointingly, "oh, it's just you" and Rigby started to cry.  I agree with them; I miss my Scottie.  So, the number one thing I am grateful for this year is that I have a husband who is normally able to be at home most evenings and weekends.  Also, I am grateful that he is such a wonderful father and willing to be involved with the kids a lot.  Just to clarify though, I was not this positive about the situation during the week.  There were many grumpy moments and tears.  I have repented until next time though! :)

September then November

Here are some miscellaneous pictures from the past couple of months:

Rigby made frog into a potato head.

Adeline thought she was pretty cool wearing her jacket and hood.

Rigby and Adeline ran around all day in their jackets.  These two are learning to get along a little bit better now.  Rigby insists EVERY day that he wear long-sleeved shirts, long pants, socks, and gloves.  When we go outside, he also wants a jacket with a hood whether it is cold or not.

Here is a diaper cake I made for one of the ladies I visit teach.

I made some Halloween treats for Peter's Halloween Party at school.

I also got a little carried away with making some Christmas gifts for the kids.  Within the past couple of months I have probably made 25 pillow cases for birthday parties, the kids' Christmas gifts, and cousins' Christmas gifts.  I think I need to stay away from the fabric store--way too much fun!

The kids love reading stories before bedtime.

Scott and I usually watch a show before bedtime after we have put the kids to bed.  Rigby has difficulties falling asleep, so one night we turned around to see him spying on us with his binoculars.  He said, "I see you."  The darn kid is so cute that we probably let him get away with too much!

Peter, Rigby, and Scott on the New Orleans Zoo Carousel.

Shrek (Peter) & Donkey (Rigby)

Peter got this fireman's hat from school, so Rigby decided he needed to get dressed up in his outfit too.

Here are the kids being treated for lice.  I brought it home from who knows where.  Unfortunately, I had never had it before, so I thought it was dandruff for the longest time.  I HATE LICE!!! (and laundry!)

Peter made this Native American/Indian costume at school for Thanksgiving.

The boys were super excited about their new pajamas pants I made.  Rigby chose spaceships (with aliens he says) and Peter loves his snake pants (they remind him of Ninjago, which he is obsessed with!).
